With GPT-5.5 'Spud' now live (2026-04-23), ChatGPT pulls ahead on agentic coding (Terminal-Bench 82.7%) and long-context (MRCR 74% at 512K-1M, +37pt jump) -- upgrade if you do either. Hold on Free tier (GPT-5.5 excluded) or if you're API-dependent (API 'coming soon', not live at launch). For most people, this is still the only AI chatbot they need.
